Cbank: Apple Pay, Google Pay for Visa, Mastercard cards stopped

MOSCOW, Mar 9 (PRIME) -- Russians will not be able to use services Apple Pay and Google for Visa and Mastercard cards, but the plastic cards of these international systems still function, the central bank said on March 6 in a statement.

The standard contact or contactless payments with cards are available in full on the whole territory of the country, the regulator said.

For payments via a smartphone, system Mir Pay is available. It can be installed on Android smartphones.

Visa and Mastercard said on March 6 that they suspended transactions in Russia.

Sberbank said on Telegram that contactless services SamsungPay and SberPay, on the Android base, will be unavailable for Visa and Mastercard cards from Thursday.
